Octopus Energy Services is spearheading the transition to greener, cheaper energy through the installation of in-home technologies; from smart metres and EV chargers; to low carbon heating, home batteries, solar, and beyond.
We've fallen head-over-heels in love with renewable tech, which will reduce a customer's carbon footprint and give them control over their energy use. We are looking for experienced AutoCAD and planning experts who share our vision: help customers move away from fossil fuels, towards sustainable, smart technologies.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an AutoCAD & Planning Technician to join us in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have experience using AutoCAD for a variety of planning projects.
This is a hybrid role with one day a week WFH, but will be on-site full time for the first 10 weeks, while you get to know the role and the team!

What you'll do

  • Create detailed drawings using AutoCAD LT.
  • Prepare Heat Pump planning application drawings to scale from photos and other formats.
  • Modify existing drawings when necessary.
  • Ensure that all designs meet required specifications and standards.

What you'll need

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with strong of experience in AutoCAD drafting
  • You are positive and proactive, and energised by working in a fast-paced environment characterised by constant change.
  • To be a team player and relationship builder.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, with strong experience in 2D drafting.
  • Knowledge of the UK planning and permitted development system.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • A focus on quality and delivery.
  • Energy industry experience is desirable but by no means essential! You'll quickly pick up what you need to know.
