More about the role

We are seeking a dynamic Communications Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This role offers flexibility with the potential to work 3-4 days a week or full-time, depending on your availability. We also have flexibility to consider contractor arrangements if necessary. This role will be focussed on showcasing our innovative efforts and enhance our PR and storytelling initiatives. You’ll need to enjoy being on the tools/pen writing - everything from customer emails to press releases about electricity market issues. Your skills are needed to make the technical or complex understandable to 8 year olds and grandmas alike.This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact through your communications expertise to help us tell our story and showcase our amazing innovations.

This means you will have:

A background in communications, media, writing, or marketing.
The ability to work at a fast pace with a high level of initiative and energy.
Strong commercial acumen and the ability to understand and drive business objectives.
A passion for writing, with skills in creating engaging content for various platforms.
Experience in managing projects/campaigns
The capability to bring fresh ideas and initiative to our communications strategies.
Willingness to be present in the office and collaborate closely with the team.

Key responsibilities

Craft compelling blogs, press releases, and other written content to demonstrate our innovative projects.
Manage and grow our social media presence to enhance our brand storytelling and PR efforts.
Oversee and project manage communications initiatives, ensuring they align with our strategic goals.
Write and distribute a monthly newsletter and other email communications to our awesome customers.
Draft targeted communications, including pointed letters or submissions to the government and other stakeholders.
Engage in essential tasks, such as writing emails to customers and creating content for internal use.
Report directly to senior management, providing regular updates on communications activities and outcomes.
Collaborate with the broader team to ensure cohesive and effective messaging across all channels.
