Kraken is the technology tentacle of the Octopus Energy Group.
Kraken Technologies is a company within the Octopus Energy Group which licences the Kraken software and its associated operating model to clients. Current clients are both the Octopus Energy Retail businesses around the world as well as external energy clients such as Good Energy, Origin, EDF, E.ON, Eni Plenitude & Queensland Energy - with many more expected to join over the next few years!
We know our customers and our warm sales leads very well and now we are looking for someone to help build the brand in a digital world, and to help nurture leads and engagement with the right future customers. This tight-knit industry is hyper-connected and known for having a slow moving, conservative mindset. But they know that the future of energy means there are big changes on the horizon.
We are seeking a creative, analytics-driven, Digital Marketing Manager who will be key in helping to track, understand and influence these potential change-makers!
We don’t have a lot of data to work with, at the moment. And we don’t have many digital marketing tools in place. We’re looking for the right person to recommend and put digital marketing in place from the ground up.
This is an exciting and creative role where you will be helping to find, target and change the minds of the people that will transform the future of energy!

What you'll do

  • Review existing digital work and evaluate what's working well and what we could do better
  • Collaborate with our Sales and Product Marketing teams to understand how we segment the market and help create digital buyer personas to ensure we have a super sharp targeting approach online
  • Understand and gather information on the triggers and signals of our buyers through data tracking and insight
  • Plan, implement, and monitor digital marketing campaigns to raise brand awareness and reach for Kraken amongst its audiences, particularly using LinkedIn, Google, and trade media
  • Work with Product Management to launch new modules and features
  • Have an excellent understanding of what works in digital creative and you’ll help make sure our product messages work beautifully with how we talk about the brand online
  • Contribute to and build captivating content marketing, both written and video
  • Run lead nurture campaigns to key decision makers, C-suite audiences and influencers, to understand what really engages them, track the data into our CRM, Hubspot, and make recommendations for how we build on this insight
  • Monitor campaign performance, establish benchmarks and act quickly to make changes in the moment to continually test, learn and optimise performance
  • Manage ongoing website improvements, SEO and dramatically improve the organic search position for Kraken

What you'll need

  • A background in Digital Marketing roles ideally for 4+ years
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, Google and LinkedIn, web analytics and best practices
  • To be data-driven with a background in tracking and analysing people’s digital footprints along their journey in discovering brands
  • To have SEO experience specifically with keyword research, link analysis, page analysis, and content analysis
  • Good understanding of B2B marketing practices, ideally also ABM.
  • Some understanding of SaaS or software businesses, or the energy industry, would be beneficial but not essential

We would prefer someone who can work in our London office but will consider remote candidates. However, you do need to be able to work in the UK.
