We are seeking a skilled Technical Author to join our team and support our developers in ensuring consistent and comprehensive technical and customer documentation across all teams for our KrakenFlex platform. As a Technical Author, you will play a critical role in overseeing the documentation process, identifying gaps, and working collaboratively with various teams to create accurate and user-friendly documentation. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong technical background, and a keen eye for detail.

What you'll do

Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and subject matter experts to understand the technical aspects of the KrakenFlex platform and identify documentation needs across teams.
Oversee the documentation process, ensuring that all teams are producing documentation at a consistent standard.
Create and maintain guidelines and templates for documentation to ensure consistency and clarity.
Work closely with team members to identify gaps in existing documentation and prioritise documentation needs.
Coordinate with developers and other stakeholders to gather information and insights to create accurate and up-to-date documentation.
Review and edit documentation produced by various teams to ensure quality, clarity, and adherence to established standards.
Provide guidance and support to team members on technical writing best practices.
Stay up-to-date with the latest features and updates in the KrakenFlex platform to ensure documentation accuracy and relevancy.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that customer-facing documentation meets user needs and aligns with the platform's capabilities.
Identify areas for process improvement in documentation creation and maintenance and propose innovative solutions.

What you'll need

Proven experience as a Technical Author, Technical Writer, or similar role in the software industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Strong technical background and understanding of software development concepts.
Proficiency in documenting software using industry-standard tools and markup languages.
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Knowledge of AWS cloud platform is a plus.
